TA-65® Receives Generally Recognized as Safe Status

By | 19th November 2014

NEW YORK, N.Y., November 19, 2014 – An independent expert panel has determined TA-65® to be Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) for use in a medical food under the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, administered by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). T.A. Sciences® provided extensive animal & human clinical data to support the status of Generally Recognized as Safe. A medical food is formulated to be consumed or administered enterally under the supervision of a physician and is intended for the specific dietary management of a disease or condition for which distinctive nutritional requirements, based on recognized scientific principles, are established by medical evaluation.

“We are very pleased to receive this GRAS notification” said Noel Thomas Patton, Chairman and Founder of T.A. Sciences®, “This is a critical step for us as we continue to develop a medical food version of TA-65®.”
